Holiday Series: Make-Up

This year I went to India for 4 weeks and by the third day I had to laugh at myself for bringing so much make-up. I had two make-up bags worth and only used about 8 products. I'm going to Rome on thursday and this time I'm being smarter about what I'm taking! So here we go:

OBVZ you need an SPF and the Lakme Sun Expert Fairness + UV Lotion is great because I hate getting tanned (I don't get a glowing tan I get a horrible tan) so this has some fairness thingies which lightens the tan. Even if it doesn't work it has SPF 30 which is what matters! Also to help stop my make-up sliding off (which is inevitable really) I'm taking the Philosophy The Present primer which I haven't used in so long!

I can't stand foundation in heat. It's like I can feel it bubbling on my skin or something but I completely avoid it. However I'm "blessed" with dark undereye circles and blemish-prone skin so a concealer is a must have. I know people say the MAC Studio Finish Concealer is really drying but in the heat it actually melts a bit and becomes really creamy! I love it and it's still one of my favourite concealers. For bronzer I'm taking Stila Sun SPF 15 Bronzer in Shade 2, I use this to contour as it's matte and a nice shade (similar to Benefit Hoola). It's sleek and compact and just an all round great product! Blush is also Stila, Stila Convertible Colour in Petunia. I love cream blushes in summer! It adds this beautiful sheen to your skin which I think looks amazing with a tan. This colour is great for the day but I wish it lasted a bit longer on the skin. I'm also taking VIVO Baked Blush in Peaches & Cream for when I don't want dewy cheeks. To use these cheek products I'm taking the Real Techniques Blush brush as it's so multifunctional!

I'm keeping the eyes pretty simple too. First up, Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, I. LOVE. THIS. The colour is gorgeous, it lasts SO LONG and it's a great base too! For other colours I wanted to take a MUA palette but I didn't need that many shades so I'm taking the Stila Quad in Marrakesh. It has two highlight shades, a gold shade and great dark shade for the night. Very good for travelling! You can get similar items from Maybelline/Rimmel/L'Oreal! Eye basics involve L'Oreal Telescopic, Maybelline Eye Kajal, Collection 2000 Extreme Liner - pretty standard stuff.

Now for lips I'm shaking it up a little! Holidays are the perfect occasion to slap on the bright lipsticks especially with tanned skin! I love Rimmel Colour Show Off in Tell No One, it gives a pretty almost neon orange but it's not red based (wearing here). Rimmel Colour Show Off in Red Fever is my FAVOURITE red lipstick ever and finally Rimmel Moisture Renew in Funtime Fuchsia is a beautiful hot pink (reminds me of FleurDeForce haha) and it's very creamy and glossy. I also added MAC's Brave for a nuder lip!

So there's my really long rambly post about make-up! Looks like a lot but really it's not. It all fits in one small pouch and it's more than I need for 6 days really! What do you guys take on your holiday?
